History of MPREP
MPREP, a private exam program, was created by music teacher Ms. Jamie Geidel for her students when some exams were cancelled in 2020 due to the pandemic.
This enabled students to stay motivated and move forward with their goals and with their performance that they had spent the year preparing for and were anticipating.
MPREP has continued and is available as an exam option or as a supplement or preparation for other events such as concerts, orchestra auditions, college entrance auditions, or other widely recognized exams.
Examination Format
• Exams are delivered remotely over Zoom
• The student may opt to submit recorded videos of scales and solo performance
• The sight-reading portion of the exam must be done in real time, over Zoom
Examination Format
Evaluation and Grade
• Students may request either a Grade (with Comments) or Comments Only
• Grades are numbered based on 100 with a corresponding letter grade
• Comments will include what was done well, also recommendations for next steps to advance further
Registration
• You may schedule the exam as many times per year as desired. • November-December and May-June are recommended. • Additional or alternate times may be scheduled. • Days and times are flexible and will be scheduled on an individual basis. • Exam will be scheduled when Registration form, Video Permission form (if applicable), and registration fee is received. • Please contactMs. Jamie Geidel,Organizer, for details regarding fees, payment, and to schedule an exam.

Meet the Judges!
JAMIE GEIDEL grew up in a family of professional musicians and teachers and studied violin, viola, flute, and piano privately with great artists, such as Carlo Renzulli, first violinist in the NY Philharmonic Orchestra, and many others. She has a B.A. in Music from Thomas Edison University and took undergraduate courses at The Juilliard School and Mannes College, and graduate courses at Teachers College (Columbia) and Manhattanville College.
